The annual celebration of T-Shirt Day started in 2008 as an initiative of the brand spreadsheet and has taken the world by storm ever since.
But before you dig out your favorite t-shirt (or go out to buy a new one), check out this history about t-shirts that will give you a little more appreciation for this great annual holiday.

T-shirts are one of the most versatile clothing in one’s life.
These can be layered both above and below the other articles of clothing that can be easily thrown in every season and for many occasions.
Your t-shirt can be just a simple single color or covered with text or graphics for self-expression.
This international holiday has grown ever since it first developed.
What is the reason for this holiday?
To celebrate the first year of the holiday, a company called Spreadsheets created events in Boston, USA as well as Berlin, Germany.
These events included a contest and blog safari centered on an article on all clothing – T-shirts.
Events were then registered in 2009 in all European cities for the celebration.
In 2010, brands began organizing their celebrations to celebrate the holiday.
The following year, American clothing as well as other fashion brands began sponsoring T-shirt gifts.
