Doesn’t taste good. It’s our taste. We must be proud of it. – Franco Moschino (1950-1994).
Moschino is a high-quality luxury Italian fashion brand well known for being made with surprisingly colorful, bizarre, and often unusual materials.
If the founder had not refused to work for the family business, the Moschino brand we love and cherish would simply not exist!
So, without further ado, let’s dive into the fantasy world of Moschino with these 8 wonderful Moschino facts.
Moschino was created in 1980.
The Moschino label was created by Franco Moschino in Italy in 1983 and is headquartered in Milan.
Franco Moschino was born on February 27, 1950, in the Lombardy region of Italy, about 13.7 miles (22 kilometers from Milan).
Franco Moschino died of a heart attack on September 18, 1994. Franco had been suffering from stomach cancer for some time, but his name still survives.
Today, the company’s creative director is American fashion designer Jeremy Scott.
Franco Moschino worked almost entirely in the family iron foundry business.
As a boy, Franco loved to go to the Iron Foundry that his family ran, and his parents had high hopes that he would one day work there himself.
But Franco set his vision beyond the foundry and had a love of fine art and always dreamed of becoming a painter.
When pressure mounted on him to work at the foundry, Franco ran away from home in 1968 and enrolled in the Arts and Fashion at a private school called the Marangoni Institute in Milan.
Franco Moschino has worked for Versace!
That’s true. While she was studying, Franco worked for various magazines and fashion houses to help pay for her.
She graduated from the Marangoni Institute in 1971 and took on a new adventurous role for Gianni Versace who founded her favorite fashion house, Versace.
Worked with Franco Versace for over six years and soon after – Moschino was founded!

Moschino had collaborations with H&M.
On November 8, 2018, Moschino X H&M was launched which saw a swarm of fashion-loving shoppers fill the store and crash their website!
Their range was created by Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott and was inspired by the pop culture of the last century.
The designs were incredibly bold, to say the least, and included Mickey and Mini mice, MTVs, CDs, jackets, T-shirts, long socks, handbags, and an abundance of other clothes and accessories.
There was something for everyone, even a cute Moschino jacket for your dog!
Celebrities love Moschino – and we do!
In 2015, Madonna released her music video for “B *** h I am Madonna”.
The video was shot live at a shoot and featured several Moschino articles, including a bright pink top, a skirt, and a leather Moschino cap.
Madonna has always been a big fan of Moschino and she befriended Jeremy Scott.
She even joined the Moschino X H&M party in 2018 with Annabelle in London, one of the most elegant private clubs in the world.
On December 23, 1990, the late Princess Diana wore a red, white and black houndstooth Moschino suit when Prince William was taken away in the name of his cousin.
The suit later inspired Kate Middleton to wear a strikingly similar red and white coat designed by Katherine Walker during her royal visits to Sweden and Norway in 2018.
Moschino’s famous bear logo is back in 1988!
Surprisingly, the famous Moschino bear that we all love was part of some of Franco’s early creations.
In 1988, Moschino’s fall line featured a model in a black dress with a collar and a hat made entirely of small bears.
The Little Bear logo can be found on many Moschino lines today, including the cute and cute underwear range.
It is fair to say that he is here to stay!
Profit Moschino brand is really about love.
We’ve all seen the Love Moschino brand but we probably don’t all know where it came from.
This brand came in 2008. Love Moschino is a lot like fun and energetic little siblings.
Both the men’s and women’s designs are made under the brand and they all conform to Moschino’s usual style, but they add a whole new dimension to it.
Because love Moschino means love, compassion, peace, and unity.
These lines evoke positivity with the creative use of symbols such as hearts of love, symbols of peace, wild colors, and even blinging chains.
Another bonus – the price of this line is a little lower so fashion-conscious but more accessible to bank-break customers.
If Franco hadn’t run away from home, Moschino wouldn’t be part of the fashion world we know.
Franco had a vision beyond working at the family-run Iron Foundry and pursued his dream of becoming one of the most influential designers to survive.
