The label was founded in 1970 and is now owned by the parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

The creator of Kenzo is Japanese.
The name Kenzo comes from the creator Kenzo Takada, who was born on February 27, 1939, in Himeji, Hyogo, Japan.
Kenzo tragically died on October 4, 2020, from the Kovid-19 virus.
As a child, she lived at home with her six siblings and parents, Kenji and Shizu Takada, and the family ran a hotel.
Kenzo Takada is one of the first male students to study fashion in Japan.
As a child, the Kenzo sisters attended sewing classes, and he watched them with great curiosity.

Kenzo went to Kobe City University of Foreign Studies in Kobe City, but his father died in his first year.

Towards the end of 1964, Kenzo traveled for a month across Hong Kong, Saigon, Mumbai, and Marseille, and finally, on January 1, 1965, he arrived in Paris!

Kenzo’s impression of Paris was not what he initially thought it would be, and he wasn’t sure if he would be there too long.
He was working as a stylist for a textile manufacturer to boost her financially.
During this time she struggled to sell her designs, and only a few fashion houses paid her very little for her sketches.
But then, in 1970, Kenzo had an opportunity to meet with a woman at a flea market who offered to rent him some workspaces in the Gallery Vivian.
With a little money in her name, she collected a variety of blended fabrics for just $ 200 and used them to create a range of eclectic and bold designs.
It paid off quickly, and in early June 1970, he appeared on the cover of Eli Magazine!
The design of the tiger signed by Kenzo almost did not go ahead.
The Kenzo label has many designers, and in 2012 Humberto Leon and Carol Lim presented a sweatshirt with a tiger face.
The Kenzo design team was not in favor of it, but it was shown in their fruit collection the same year after some initial resistance.

In 1986, Kenzo wanted to create a new perfume, and he met Serge Mansueu, who made the perfume bottle.
During the meeting, he told Mansau that he liked pebbles and the two of them started working on sketches to create the perfect design.
An hour passed when Kenzo further announced that he too liked flowers.
Mansau finds a plastic flower and sticks it on top of the pebble with a piece of chewing gum, and so his inspirational Kenzo eo de toilet was created.
